During a political event in Gavà, Barcelona, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez criticized Madrid regional president Isabel Díaz Ayuso over explanations regarding her property in Chamberí, ironically stating that "it has become clear she doesn't really like fruit, she likes penthouses."

In addition to his remarks targeting Ayuso, Sánchez criticized Partido Popular leader Alberto Núñez Feijóo. The Prime Minister accused Feijóo of political "submission" to Ayuso and maintained that the opposition leader has remained silent regarding the controversy surrounding the acquisition of the penthouse property.
