Santander prevé cerrar este jueves la compra de Webster para crecer en Estados Unidos

Banco Santander has finalized the acquisition of the American institution Webster Financial. The transaction, valued at approximately 12.2 billion dollars (roughly 10.5 billion euros), received all necessary regulatory and shareholder approvals following the initial announcement made in February. The deal was completed six months after it was first proposed.

This strategic move is intended to facilitate Santander's growth within the United States market. By integrating Webster Financial, the Spanish banking group secures a position among the ten largest retail banks operating in the country.
