PAS's Sanusi Nor said more individuals will receive letters of demand over what he describes as attempts to twist his words beyond their actual meaning.PETALING JAYA: Kedah menteri besar Sanusi Nor has issued a letter of demand to PKR leader Dr N Sathia Prakash over claims that the latter misrepresented his remarks about the Malay, Chinese and Indian communities during a ceramah in Jempol, Negeri Sembilan.Sanusi's lawyer, Faizi Che Abu, said the Selangor PKR election director defamed his client by alleging that the PAS leader had, among other things, urged "Indians to return to India and Chinese to go back to China"."Our client never uttered the words 'Indians, go back to India' or 'Chinese, go back to China' as you (Sathia) claimed."Instead, our client's actual speech merely explained that the Malays only have Tanah Melayu (the Malay land) as their homeland, while other ethnic groups each have their own countries of origin," he said in the letter of demand dated July 27.Sanusi has given Sathia seven days to provide a written undertaking to remove the TikTok content containing the alleged defamatory remarks and refrain from republishing it.Faizi said Sathia had also been asked to apologise to Sanusi within the same period through newspapers, websites and other platforms agreed upon by the PAS leader.Sathia has likewise been asked to propose a reasonable amount of damages.Sanusi said more individuals would receive letters of demand over what he described as attempts to twist his words beyond their actual meaning."Hopefully, this will serve as a lesson to everyone," he said.On Sunday, Sathia acknowledged that he had made a mistake in claiming that Sanusi had told Chinese and Indians to "go back" to China and India.However, Sathia said the error did not affect the basis of the police report filed against Sanusi over the speech that was allegedly capable of inciting racial sentiments.
