School Nurses to Begin Violence Screening for Icelandic Pupils in October

Beginning in October, school nurses across Iceland will implement a mandatory screening program designed to identify pupils who have experienced violence. The initiative, announced by Health Minister Alma Möller, will initially target students in the seventh and ninth grades nationwide.

The program follows a successful pilot study conducted at five schools during the spring. The screening process is intended to provide a systematic approach to identifying and addressing instances of violence affecting the student population.
