Schools trial AI leak detection technology to save water

The New South Wales government has launched a trial of artificial intelligence-based leak detection technology across schools to address significant water wastage. The initiative aims to mitigate the loss of approximately 20 per cent of the 2 million megalitres of water consumed by the state's educational facilities annually. By identifying and addressing leaks more efficiently, the program seeks to improve resource management and reduce overall water consumption within the school system.
