“The abuses are over”: The Government has stopped the “photo-ticket-hunting cars” and they will not be able to issue fines without traffic officers present.

The national government of Argentina has issued a resolution prohibiting the use of "photo-fine cars" (carros cazafotomultas) to issue traffic tickets without the physical presence of a traffic agent. Under the new regulation, any traffic violation recorded by these vehicles cannot be converted into a fine unless an authorized transit agent is present, visible, identified, and in charge of the operation.

The measure aims to curb what the government describes as abuses associated with automated mobile enforcement systems. By mandating the direct participation of enforcement personnel, the regulation restricts automated ticketing practices that previously operated independently of on-site agents.
