Security guard charged after woman injured in Spanish Town dispute

ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — A 24-year-old security guard has been charged with assault occasioning grievous bodily harm and unlawful wounding following a dispute with a woman on Hillcrest Avenue in Spanish Town, St Catherine, on Wednesday, August 26. Charged is Krystal Wright of Wynters Pen, Spanish Town. According to police reports, about 9:00 pm, Wright and the woman became involved in a dispute which escalated into an argument.

Police said that during the altercation, Wright allegedly used a stone to strike the woman in her face, causing her to sustain a broken tooth and wounds to her face. The matter was reported to the police, and Wright was arrested on Friday, August 28. Wright is scheduled to appear before the St Catherine Parish Court on Tuesday, October 20.
