Colombian Senate authorizes Petro to leave the country for one year

The Colombian Senate approved a request on Wednesday allowing President Gustavo Petro to travel outside the country for a period of one year. The legislative authorization passed with a decisive margin of 73 votes in favor and 11 votes against.
