Drought worsens in Puerto Rico and doubles in one week

Drought conditions in Puerto Rico have intensified significantly over the past week, with the portion of the territory experiencing extreme drought rising to 17 percent. This figure represents nearly double the 9.49 percent recorded during the previous week.

The worsening environmental conditions have negatively impacted the island's reservoir levels. Consequently, more than half a million people are currently subject to water-related restrictions or service disruptions.
