Serbia’s protesting youth formally join race challenging Vucic before next month’s election

University students who have led anti-government protests in Serbia for nearly two years have formally entered the political arena. On Monday, the youth movement submitted their candidacy to participate in the upcoming early parliamentary election, marking a transition from street activism to formal electoral competition against the government of populist President Aleksandar Vucic.
