Several missing, dozens evacuated amid sudden Grand Canyon flooding

Flash flooding at the Grand Canyon has resulted in the evacuation of dozens of individuals and left approximately 15 people missing or unaccounted for. The surge of water caused significant damage to infrastructure, including the destruction of footbridges spanning a creek that flows into the Colorado River.

The National Park Service is currently managing the emergency response following the sudden weather event. Authorities are working to account for those missing as they assess the extent of the damage within the affected areas of the park.
