She spent decades alone with a rare genetic condition – now she's building a community for others like her

Yessika Sutawijaya, a 45-year-old woman who spent decades living with the rare genetic condition neurofibromatosis without meeting anyone else with the diagnosis, has co-founded a support group to help others.

The initiative aims to provide the community and backing that Sutawijaya herself lacked for most of her life, connecting individuals affected by the same rare medical condition.
