The UN warns that more than 250,000 children are at risk of acute malnutrition amid the violence in Haiti

The United Nations has issued a warning regarding a significant nutritional crisis affecting children in Haiti amid ongoing violence. According to the announcement made on Friday, more than 250,000 children between the ages of six months and eleven years are at risk of acute malnutrition.

The high-risk period for these children is projected to span from June 2026 to May 2027. Within this vulnerable population, the UN specifically noted that 94,000 children face the severe threat of acute malnutrition, driven by the volatile security context in the country.
