Shonda Rhimes Renews Netflix Overall Deal for Another Five Years

Shonda Rhimes and her production company, Shondaland, have signed a five-year contract renewal with Netflix. The agreement extends a partnership that began in 2017 when Rhimes and her producing partner, Betsy Beers, first moved their operations to the streaming platform.

Beyond traditional on-screen content, the new deal expands the scope of the collaboration to include the development of live events and merchandise. Netflix’s chief content officer, Bela Bajaria, acknowledged the renewal as the production banner continues its tenure at the streamer.
