‘Show the necessary respect’: German athlete Kolbe slams racist abuse of teammates

German 800m runner Smilla Kolbe used a post-race TV interview during the European Athletics Championships to condemn the online racist abuse directed at some of her teammates.

During her public remarks, Kolbe highlighted the severity of the prejudice by stating she did not want to imagine what her own experience would be like if she were not white.
