DAR ES SALAAM: TANZANIA-CHINA Shipping Company (SINOTASHIP) is planning to expand its operations by introducing container storage, handling and transportation services as it moves to strengthen its position in the country’s shipping and logistics industry. The firm also plans to expand its cargo haulage business through trucking, according to SINOTASHIP Tanzania Managing Director Angela Mushi. Ms Mushi outlined the plans during a working visit by Deputy Minister for Transport David Kihenzile to the company’s offices in Dar es Salaam.
She explained that SINOTASHIP also intends to acquire a new vessel to increase its service capacity, respond to growing demand and improve its competitiveness in the shipping and logistics market. During the visit, Deputy Minister Kihenzile urged the company’s management to identify and develop new business opportunities that could increase revenue and strengthen SINOTASHIP’s contribution to Tanzania’s economic growth through the transport and logistics sector.
