Chiapas registers a 4.1 magnitude earthquake in Ciudad Hidalgo

Multiple seismic events were recorded in southern Mexico between September 10 and September 11. The Servicio Sismológico Nacional (SSN) reported a 4.0 magnitude earthquake near Pinotepa Nacional, Oaxaca, at 19:21 on September 10, followed by a 4.3 magnitude tremor near Ciudad Hidalgo, Chiapas, at 23:44 the same day. Subsequent activity included a 4.1 magnitude earthquake in Cintalapa, Chiapas, at 02:23 on September 11, and a 4.1 magnitude event near Ciudad Hidalgo at 15:31 on September 11.

These seismic movements occurred at varying depths and locations across the states of Chiapas and Oaxaca. Preliminary data from the SSN indicates that the tremors were recorded at depths ranging from 15 kilometers for the events near Ciudad Hidalgo to unspecified depths for the other reported incidents.
