A 4.6 magnitude earthquake occurred near Ciudad Hidalgo, Chiapas, at 23:46 hours on August 21, centered 126 km southwest of the municipality at a depth of 9.5 km. Additionally, a 4.3 magnitude earthquake was recorded 120 km southwest of Huixtla, Chiapas, at 15:53 hours on an unspecified date.

Separately, a 4.3 magnitude tremor was registered in the state of Oaxaca on August 22. This event occurred at 00:57 hours, with an epicenter located 64 km southeast of the municipality of Unión Hidalgo at an unspecified depth. These reports represent distinct seismic activities across the southern region of the country.
