Earthquake in Cali affects families in the Meléndez Reserve

On Monday, a magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck a large part of Colombia, resulting in significant casualties and widespread humanitarian emergencies. The disaster left 281 dead, 3,824 injured, and 379 missing, as the civilian population continues recovery efforts and search operations for survivors.

In the city of Cali, the impact is acutely visible in the Reserva de Meléndez apartment complex located on the city's slopes. Approximately 200 families have been forced to sleep in tents outside their residential buildings for two consecutive nights after the earthquake rendered their homes uninhabitable.
