Six dead after explosion destroys building in Athens

An explosion completely destroyed a building in Athens, resulting in six deaths. The blast occurred near major historical sites, including the Acropolis and the Temple of Zeus, causing widespread damage to nearby houses, shops, and vehicles, with debris scattering up to three blocks away.

Emergency responders pulled two unconscious individuals from the debris while continuing search operations for four other people. Authorities believe the incident was caused by a gas leak that triggered the structural collapse.
