Social development minister won’t apologise to beneficiaries who wrongfully missed payments

Social Development Minister Louise Upston has declined to issue an apology to beneficiaries who experienced wrongful payment suspensions caused by processing delays at the Ministry of Social Development (MSD).

The administrative delays resulted in vulnerable recipients missing their scheduled financial support. Despite the impact of these wrongful suspensions, the minister has maintained her refusal to say sorry for the operational failures.
