Social media companies sued over deaths of four teens as pressure, lawsuits over child safety mount

The families of four teenagers who died by suicide have filed a lawsuit against major social media companies Meta, TikTok, Snapchat, and YouTube. Filed on Thursday in the Superior Court, the legal action targets the companies over what the plaintiffs describe as years of escalating harms from using the platforms that ultimately resulted in the deaths of the teens.
