Somali referee denied World Cup ‘proud’ to oversee UEFA Super Cup

Somalian referee Omar Artan has been selected to take charge of the upcoming UEFA Super Cup match between Paris Saint-Germain and Aston Villa on Wednesday.

This appointment follows an incident prior to the World Cup starting in June, when the 34-year-old referee was denied the opportunity to officiate at the tournament after being refused entry into the United States.
