South Korea demands apology from Ukraine over North Korean prisoners of war disclosure

South Korea's presidential office has formally demanded an official explanation and apology from Ukraine regarding the disclosure of sensitive information concerning two North Korean prisoners of war. The diplomatic friction arose after Kyiv allegedly revealed the transfer of the two prisoners to South Korea.

According to Seoul, the Ukrainian government not only disclosed the transfer but also falsely denied that both sides had previously agreed to keep the logistical move confidential. The incident centers on the handling of North Korean personnel and the breach of a bilateral confidentiality agreement between South Korean and Ukrainian authorities.
