South Korea’s military says North Korea fired a projectile toward the sea

South Korea’s military reported that North Korea fired at least one projectile toward its eastern waters on Monday. The launch contributes to an ongoing series of recent weapons demonstrations by Pyongyang.

At the time of the announcement, South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff had not immediately specified whether the weapon used was ballistic, nor did they disclose the exact distance the projectile traveled.
