South Korean military , UN command launch investigation into DMZ explosion

The South Korean military and the United Nations Command have launched a joint investigation following an explosion in the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). The incident occurred on Monday in the western sector of the heavily fortified border area separating South Korea and North Korea.

Three South Korean soldiers sustained injuries during the blast while they were clearing a patrol route. In response, an investigative team consisting of approximately 40 officials conducted a search near the site of the explosion.
