Spain battles forest fire a short drive from flash flood

Spain is currently managing simultaneous natural disasters as emergency services battle a forest fire near Valencia while responding to severe flash floods in nearby Catalonia. The wildfire forced the evacuation of more than 1,000 residents from their homes, highlighting the immediate danger posed by the blaze a short drive from the flood zone.

In Catalonia, the civil defense teams executed approximately 200 rescue operations. The torrential flooding trapped numerous residents inside their vehicles and homes, compounding the emergency response efforts across the affected regions.
