Spain Installs Floating Barrier in Ceuta After Influx of Migrants

Spanish authorities have installed a floating barrier off the coast of Ceuta, a Spanish exclave in North Africa, following a significant surge of migrants attempting to enter the territory. The installation comes in response to recent attempts by individuals to cross into the exclave, which shares a land border with Morocco.

While many of the individuals who participated in the recent influx have since returned to Morocco, the situation has resulted in a high human cost. Authorities have confirmed that at least 67 people have died while attempting to reach the territory. The barrier is intended to manage border security and address the ongoing challenges posed by migration flows into the Spanish enclave.
