Spain to impose border checks in response to Italy doing the same after Ceuta crisis

The tension stems from a migration crisis involving Spain's North African territory of Ceuta, where tens of thousands of individuals recently crossed the border from Morocco in an unprecedented and deadly event. The Italian government has stated it does not intend to revise its border policy before August 15.
