Spanberger intervening in proposed NextEra-Dominion merger

Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger announced on Thursday that she plans to formally intervene in the proposed merger between NextEra Energy and Dominion Energy. In an op-ed published in the Washington Post, the Democratic governor stated she will make herself a party to the deal.

If approved by regulators, the transaction between NextEra Energy and Dominion Energy would create the largest regulated electrical utility in the world.
