Marape urges citizens to prepare for tough times ahead

Papua New Guinea Prime Minister James Marape has called on citizens across the country to prepare for challenging economic conditions in the coming months. Speaking on national challenges, the Prime Minister warned that families and communities will continue to face financial pressure driven by high fuel prices, the rising cost of imported goods, and the ongoing impacts of El Niño.

Separately, in sporting events within the country, the Star Dust team secured back-to-back victories by winning the International Paint 3 Peaks 2026 Race on Saturday, October 17. The team triumphed over eight other competitors in the A class division after recording the shortest completion time for the event's series of challenges.
