STAT+: Eyepoint study results for vision treatment disappoint, but company still sees promise

Eyepoint Pharmaceuticals announced on Monday that its Phase 3 clinical trial for an experimental treatment targeting a common cause of age-related blindness failed to meet its primary objective. The study aimed to demonstrate that the treatment could maintain patient vision with less frequent injections than current standard therapies, but the results showed that the drug did not achieve this goal.
