Stockport's BBC Race Across The World star Jo Gardiner dies a year after her son Sam

Jo Gardiner, a former contestant on the BBC television program Race Across The World, has died one year after the death of her son and co-star, Sam. Gardiner, who resided in Stockport, passed away following a battle with cancer.

Her son, Sam, died in June 2025 at the age of 24 following a car crash on the A34. The pair had previously appeared together on the reality series.
