Stroke deaths are nearly 60% higher in the South than in the Northeast, CDC data shows

New county-level data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows adults in the South die from stroke at a rate 60% higher than adults in the Northeast — the widest gap between any two regions in the country.
