A Northern California high school will remain closed until state environmental officials determine it is safe for students and employees to return after testing detected a hazardous chemical beneath the campus, school officials said. The closure affects Kennedy High School in Richmond, about 20 miles northeast of San Francisco, just weeks before the start of the new academic year, California Post said.
