Sudan: Sudan Prepares to Participate in COP31 Climate Conference in Türkiye

The Sudanese government has initiated formal preparations for its participation in the 31st Conference of the Parties (COP31) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, which is scheduled to be held in Türkiye. Suleiman Al-Bouni, Secretary-General of the Higher Council for Environment and Natural Resources, led a coordination meeting in Khartoum on Sunday to organize the country's involvement in the upcoming international summit.

This preparatory session marks the early stages of Sudan's strategy for the climate conference. The meeting focused on establishing the necessary administrative and policy frameworks required for the nation's engagement in the global climate negotiations hosted by Türkiye.
