Sumar asks the Ombudsman to take action against the refusal of PP-governed communities to take in migrant children from Ceuta

Verónica Martínez Barbero, spokesperson for the Movimiento Sumar in the Spanish Congress, announced on Saturday that her party will formally request the Ombudsman to investigate and intervene regarding the refusal of several autonomous communities governed by the Popular Party (PP) to accept migrant minors arriving in Ceuta. The initiative seeks to address the administrative impasse surrounding the relocation of these minors across Spanish regions.

The move highlights ongoing political tensions regarding the management of migration and the distribution of unaccompanied minors between the central government and regional administrations led by the opposition. By involving the Ombudsman, Sumar aims to challenge the regional governments' stance on the reception of these individuals.
