‘Sure sign of desperation’: Congress hits back at PM Modi over ‘dimaagi Naxals’ remark

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently addressed the issue of Naxalism, stating that while armed insurgency has been largely eliminated, the presence of ideological influence, which he termed 'dimaagi Naxals' (intellectual Naxals), remains a significant concern. The remarks have sparked a political confrontation between the government and the opposition.

In response, the Congress party has criticized the Prime Minister's characterization. Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh described the statement as a 'sure sign of desperation,' while party president Mallikarjun Kharge also issued a critique of the Prime Minister's rhetoric regarding the ideological influence of Naxalism.
