Swiss geologist and local miner kidnapped and killed in Central African Republic

A Swiss geologist and a local miner were kidnapped and subsequently killed on Thursday in the Central African Republic. The incident occurred north of the capital city of Bangui.

The deaths were confirmed in a statement issued on Monday by the local public prosecutor's office. The victims have been identified as Swiss geologist Luca Maggini and an unnamed local miner.
