Swiss voters expected to shun stricter neutrality

Swiss voters are participating in a Sunday ballot to decide on a heavily debated proposal to tighten the country's traditional neutrality by enshrining a strict definition into the constitution. According to pre-election polls, voters are expected to reject the initiative.

In addition to the neutrality vote, the ballot includes another initiative calling for Switzerland to raise its food self-sufficiency rate from 42 percent in 2024 to 70 percent. Polls indicate that voters are also expected to reject this measure.
