Syria to offer lower-priced diesel to ease fuel costs for consumers

On Thursday, Syrian Energy Minister Mohammad Al-Bashir announced that the Syrian government will introduce two tiers of diesel pricing aimed at easing fuel costs for consumers. Under the new policy, subsidized diesel will be sold at 115 Syrian pounds, equivalent to $0.94, per liter.

The lower-priced fuel is designated for heating, agriculture, and other eligible consumers. Additionally, a second grade of diesel will be made available at 150 Syrian pounds, or $1.23, per liter to support specific productive and service sectors.
