Syria, World Bank agree to set up fund for recovery and reconstruction

Syria and the World Bank have agreed to establish a multi-donor trust fund dedicated to recovery and reconstruction. The joint statement was announced on Sunday in Cairo.

The initiative is designed to provide concessional financing and investment guarantees. Damascus aims to utilize the fund to rebuild the country following a civil war that has lasted for more than a decade.
