Tanzania, Algeria deepen pharmaceutical cooperation to strengthen local production and expand African medicine access

Tanzania and Algeria have initiated discussions to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing sectors. The talks, held in Algiers, focused on establishing frameworks for investment, technology transfer, and the exchange of technical expertise to bolster drug production capabilities.

The primary objective of this partnership is to enhance Tanzania’s domestic manufacturing capacity. By leveraging Algerian expertise and collaborative investment, the two nations aim to increase the local production of medicines and improve overall access to medical supplies across the African continent.
