Tanzania banks on ‘Pay-for-Results’ model to boost dairy sector

The Tanzanian government has launched the AgResults Tanzania Climate-Smart Dairy Prize Competition in Dodoma to enhance the productivity of the national dairy sector. Deputy Minister for Livestock and Fisheries, Ng’wasi Damas Kamani, announced the initiative, which utilizes a 'Pay-for-Results' model to incentivize improvements in livestock services and investments.

The program is designed to translate sector-wide investments into tangible, measurable outcomes for smallholder farmers. By focusing on performance-based results, the government aims to modernize dairy operations and improve the livelihoods of local farmers through climate-smart agricultural practices.
