DAR ES SALAAM: GOVERNMENT experts have begun a two-day meeting to draw up a coordinated plan for the country’s preparations to co-host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals. The meeting brings together officials from various government institutions to align preparations, clarify responsibilities and ensure Tanzania is ready to host the continental football tournament. Information availed at the Ministry of Information, Culture, Arts and Sports indicates that the session in Dar es Salaam would enable experts to share experiences, review preparations and agree on joint strategies ahead of the tournament.
Tanzania will co-host AFCON 2027 with Kenya and Uganda, marking the first time the continent’s premier football tournament will be staged jointly across the three East African countries.
