Tanzania officially assumes chairmanship of UNESCO’s World Heritage Committee

Tanzania has officially assumed the chairmanship of the African Group within the UNESCO World Heritage Committee for a two-year term. The transition took place following the conclusion of the 48th Session of the World Heritage Committee, which was held in Busan, Republic of Korea.

During the upcoming term, Tanzania will lead the regional group in matters related to the preservation and management of cultural and natural heritage sites across the continent.
