DAR ES SALAAM: THE Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, has held talks with Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Olivier Nduhungirehe, aimed at strengthening economic and development cooperation between the two neighbouring countries. The meeting, held at the Ministry’s sub-office in Dar es Salaam, focused on expanding bilateral cooperation in key sectors, including trade, infrastructure development, energy and the utilisation of the Port of Dar es Salaam. During the discussions, the two ministers agreed to convene the next Joint Permanent Commission (JPC) meeting in December 2026 to review the implementation of existing bilateral agreements and identify new opportunities for cooperation.
ALSO READ: Tanzania, Rwanda advance ties The meeting was also attended by Tanzania’s Ambassador to Rwanda, Dr Habib Gallus Kambanga, and Rwanda’s Ambassador to Tanzania, General Patrick Nyamvumba. Ambassador Nduhungirehe arrived in Tanzania on July 25, 2026, for a working visit, which concluded on July 26, 2026. The visit was aimed at further strengthening diplomatic relations and economic cooperation between Tanzania and Rwanda.
