DAR ES SALAAM: THE National Sports Council (BMT) has said the arrival of American international swimming coach Ben Lee presents an important opportunity for local coaches to enhance their skills and learn modern techniques used in the development of the sport globally. The statement was made by BMT Sports Officer Petro Chelula while receiving the coach at Julius Nyerere International Airport (JNIA) in Dar es Salaam. He encouraged swimming coaches across the country to participate in the special training programme to be conducted by Ben Lee, saying it will provide international-level knowledge that will help improve coaching abilities and nurture the talents of Tanzanian swimmers.
ALSO READ: Top US coach to bring elite swimming training to Dar He said the training will contribute to increasing coaches’ understanding of modern coaching techniques, athletes’ preparation methods and competitive strategies used in major international competitions. “The arrival of international experts such as Ben Lee provides an important opportunity for our coaches to learn and exchange experiences in order to strengthen the development of swimming in the country,” he said. He added that BMT will continue working with various sports stakeholders to ensure coaches and athletes have opportunities to learn from international experts.
