Taylor Farms recalls sauces and guacamole in the US after linking salmonella outbreak to Sinaloa farmer

California-based food company Taylor Farms has initiated a voluntary recall of various prepared food products, including salsas and guacamole, across the United States. The recall follows an investigation linking products containing Mexican jalapeños to a salmonella outbreak, with reports also noting a separate association with a cycle of cyclosporiasis cases. The affected items were distributed to major national retailers, including Walmart, Kroger, Target, Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, and Hannaford.

The recall was prompted by health alerts identifying a specific agricultural source in Sinaloa, Mexico, as the origin of the contaminated jalapeños. Taylor Farms is working to remove the implicated products from store shelves to mitigate further public health risks associated with the consumption of these prepared goods.
