Employed and single: the profile of the population in Mexico with the highest risk of suicide, according to INEGI

Preliminary data from Mexico's National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) indicates that 8,709 deaths by suicide were recorded in the country during 2025. This total corresponds to a national rate of 6.7 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

According to the INEGI figures, the demographic profile carrying the highest risk of suicide within the Mexican population consists of individuals who are employed and single.
